Telephone Reassurance

Volunteers at the various CARES Senior Centers will make weekday telephone calls to designated clients to monitor their safety and provide social/psychological support.

A dedicated team volunteers make weekly phone calls to homebound seniors to provide comforting conversation and verification of the senior’s wellbeing.  Families and caregivers have the reassurance of knowing that someone will be checking on their loved ones on a regularly scheduled basis. Calls are made from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. during the weekdays. If the phone is unanswered, an emergency procedure is implemented to assure the client’s safety and to send help if necessary.
