Telephone Reassurance

Volunteers at the various CARES Senior Centers will make weekday telephone calls to designated clients to monitor their safety and provide social/psychological support.

A dedicated team of volunteers make weekly phone calls to home-bound seniors to provide comforting conversation and verification of the senior’s well-being.  Families and caregivers have the reassurance of knowing that someone will be checking on their loved ones on a regularly scheduled basis. Calls are made from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. during the weekdays. If the phone is unanswered, an emergency procedure is implemented to assure the client’s safety and to send help if necessary.
